Interview with Brian Gregory

In this interview also released as a Podcast, Neil chats with Dr Brian Gregory about his Leader-Connect course and PhD thesis and research on the positive role of fear in entrepreneurship and leadership. Brian is a Teaching Fellow who specialises in entrepreneurship at Lancaster University Management School and is himself a successful entrepreneur and before that an NCO in the Scots Guards.

In this excellent interview Brian explains how emotions drive decisions and actions, and how fear and other emotions need to be understood and embraced. Neil and Brian discuss the concept of unrequited reciprocity in business networks; operating within a culture where supporting others is normalised and within this culture support will come to us although not necessarily from someone we have helped. Neil and Brian also discuss the importance of trust and compassion within business networks, and Brian explains how this even applies to online networks and relationships. This interview will interest leaders in all forms of work.
