Munish Chauhan

Major Munish Chauhan MBBS, MRCS, DMCC, PGDip, RAMC, is a General Surgery Registrar in the British Army, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Army Leadership, and an Executive Coach with a passion for developing resilient, self-aware leaders. Coming from a humble background in India, Munish’s journey from labourer to soldier, and eventually surgeon, reflects his deep commitment to hard work, resilience, and self-leadership.

 

In his role as a General Surgery Registrar, Munish blends clinical expertise with a leadership approach rooted in military discipline and a people-first philosophy. He mentors soldiers and medical personnel, enabling them to thrive under pressure while honing both their technical skills and personal growth.

 

As a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Army Leadership, Munish regularly presents his research on leadership, self-awareness, resilience, and psychological safety at national and international forums, including the House of Lords. He has also had the honour of speaking at conferences in India about psychological safety and leadership in high-pressure environments.

 

A multiple-award winner, Munish has earned the prestigious CGS Commendation for leadership within the British Army, the Leadership Beyond Borders award, presented by the Government Minister of Higher Education from India and Baroness Verma at the House of Lords and the Clinical Excellence Award from Frimley Park NHS Trust. Through his coaching and leadership, Munish remains dedicated to empowering others to achieve their full potential, both on the battlefield and in the operating theatre.
