Dr. Brian Gregory is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Lancaster University Management School where he lectures undergraduate and post graduate students, also teaching executive education. Brian is the current director of the Entrepreneur in Residence programme which helps bring business practices from across the globe into the classrooms.
As a successful entrepreneur Brian founded Safety Management (UK) in 2002, what was then a leading fire safety consultancy in the UK, exiting in 2019. Since then Brian has also grown a portfolio career as a Board Chair, NED and consultant specialising in business growth and acquisition integration. Prior to this Brian served as a Guardsman in the Scots Guards and also served in the Fire Service for 11 years before venturing into business.
In 2025, Brian completed his PhD thesis titled: “Heart-centred Networks: Powered by the Brain and Driven by the Heart”. His thesis examines the role of fear within the business environment, how entrepreneurs deal with that fear and the power of networks to help entrepreneurs overcome fear and uncertainty. He tracked real UK founders through Brexit chaos, Covid lockdowns, money shortages, and personal lows, proving fear can flip into fuel if you’ve got the right people around you.
Brian has recorded an excellent course for Leader-Connect where he teaches the core lessons from his PhD which is available
