I love learning through Leader-Connect, brilliant for my own and my team’s leadership development.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are such an important aspect of leadership but can be lost as a side line that gets brought up when team members have a problem. If the needs and support of your team are a daily priority to the leader and the team as a whole then inclusion becomes more automatic in everyones behaviour and consideration.
In this series of EDI focused sessions, Rachel Diss breaks down why and how we can lead with interest and awareness of out teams, finding solutions and realising that we all have amazing diversity and benefitted from kindness and care for those we work with and lead. It also raises aspects of The Equality Act 2010 and how you can support team members with reasonable adjustments to optimise your outcomes with a functional and valued workforce.
Topics covered include:
How to use the Course. This is obviously completely up to you, but we suggest you take time to digest and apply each lesson. Many people learn better if they have a partner to learn with, or a mentor or coach they can discuss ideas with. Although you could easily complete all the videos in a relatively short period of a few hours, you would gain more from the experience by approaching it mindfully and slowly, taking the time to practice, apply and reflect as you progress through the course. Please contact us if you would like to work with one of our coaches or leadership development experts.
Duration. The course will take approximately 75 minutes to complete including taking the final assessment. Each video lasts for between 6 and 10 mins and the final assessment will take no longer than 10 mins. This also allows time for reflection on the content and consideration of the points raised by Rachel. The course does not have to be completed in one attempt and can be completed in stages.
The Course Host. Rachel Diss is a Specialist Occupational Therapist working for the NHS, graduating in 2007. She has also been a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer for 25 years and is currently the National Lead for Diversity and Inclusion in the Army Cadets. She enjoys farming and outdoor adventures with friends and supports groups on expedition as a qualified Mountain Leader. Rachel is an active trustee of The Michelle Jurd Trust and supports a number of other charities focused on wellbeing and personal development of others.

Leader-Connect online courses are an excellent tool for leadership development. Great courses for leaders in any line of work.

“I’ve really enjoyed the variety in the learning approach on the Leadership Development Programme — from role play and games through to quiet reflection and team tasks — which kept the sessions engaging and made the learning easy to connect to real situations.
The session on teaching teams how to use the OODA model was particularly valuable for me personally. I’ve really enjoyed the course overall and have appreciated the relationships built along the way.”

Neil gave a keynote talk to all of our Executive Team and Trust Leaders. He spoke about leadership and was very engaging – leaving us wanting more. The talk has already had an impact. We also bought copies of the leadership book for our leadership team and everyone has really enjoyed reading it & learning from it. We are keen to invite Neil back next year!
Deputy CEO, Bright Futures Educational Trust
The Leadership Development Programme is an excellent course. Full of lots of great content, but also thoroughly enjoyable and led by two enormously lovely guys in Paul & Marcus.

“Spending a day with Neil Jurd was genuinely transformational. It sharpened my sense of purpose as a Headteacher, brought fresh clarity to how I lead, and gave me renewed energy for the future. Colleagues noticed the difference immediately – that sense of clarity, calm and purpose that Neil draws out so naturally.
That’s why I’ve now booked all 21 of our Extended Leadership Team onto Neil’s leadership programme. It’s the perfect blend of inspiration and practicality – designed for schools, rooted in real leadership, and accessible through his excellent online platform. If you’re serious about developing people and culture, start here.”
